Hushovd cleans house at Gabriel

Four key officers of Gabriel Resources (GBU-T) have simultaneously tendered their resignations, all citing “personal reasons” for their decisions.

Leaving are: Robin Hickson, president and CEO (who had only joined the company in July); Andrew Kaczmarek, vice-president and general manager of the Rosia Montana project in Romania; Bruce Marsh, vice-president of environmental and regulatory affairs; and Michael Steyn, vice-president of community development.

The moves come less than three weeks after the appointment of the highly respected Oyvind Hushovd as chairman and CEO. Hushovd worked at Falconbridge from 1974 to 2002, including a 7-year stint as president.
