Huckleberry infill returns high grade

A drill hole at the Huckleberry property near Kemano, B.C., has returned a 787-ft. intersection, from 113 ft. to 900 ft., averaging 0.83% copper.

Owner New Canamin Resources (VSE) reports that the hole, 94-180, also contained a 147-ft., high-grade intersection that averaged more than 2% copper from 113 to 260 ft.

Hole 94-180 is part of an infill drilling program on the East zone and there is a strong indication that the higher-grade mineralization extends to depth, said President Alan Savage.

The two holes closest to Hole 94-180 — 100 ft. to the east and west — returned 439 ft. grading 0.66% copper and 400 ft. grading 0.65% copper, respectively.

The current definition drilling will be used to complete a feasibility study this year for an open-pit mine and mill.

The drill-indicated resource in both the Main and East zones is estimated at 80 million tons grading more than 0.6% copper, and the company believes the resource could potentially be expanded to more than 100 million tons. Infill drilling on the East zone should be completed by the end of June, at which point New Canamin plans to drill-test a large gold-copper anomaly extending north and east of the zone.
