HSK Minerals finds gold values at Vigrass Lake

Anomalous gold values have been encountered by HSK Minerals on its V igrass Lake property located in Teck and Otto twps., in the Kirkland Lake area of Ontario.

Assay results from a surface sampling program on the property returned these gold values in 24 out of 27 channel and chip samples. One channel sample returned a gold value of 0.363 oz per ton across a width of 5 ft.

President Hugh Harbinson says the surface sampling was carried out as the result of an overburden stripping program completed late last month. This stripping exposed an area measuring 140 ft by 80 ft composed of quartz-breccia stockwork and highly altered metavolcanic rocks located some 400 ft south of the Larder Lake fault.

Intense shearing is noted throughout the exposure associated with disseminated pyrite mineralization and carbonate alteration. Anomalous gold values were encountered across the width of the exposure for 70 ft, with the 0.363-oz-per-ton section associated to a quartz- stockwork zone.

The property, which HSK has acquired during the past three months, consists of 22 contiguous mineral claims situated south of the Kirkland Lake break straddling the Larder Lake and Vigrass Lake fault systems.

Mr Harbinson says a full compilation of data on the property is being prepared prior to starting a detailed exploration program.

In other company news, a stripping program on the Glenora property located a t the east end of the Kirkland Lake fault has been completed. A previous unreported mass of altered-sheared syenite south of the Glenora shaft returning anomalously low gold values was exposed.

HSK, formerly Homestake Exploration, trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange at the current level of 75 cents .
