Drilling is under way on two properties west of Timmins, Ont.
Holmer Gold Mines (HGM-A) is testing induced-polarization (IP) anomalies at its Thunder Creek gold property in Bristol Twp., 6 km north of Band-Ore Resources’ (BNDR-C) recent gold discovery in Thorneloe Twp. Earlier work at Thunder Creek outlined a preliminary resource of 400,000 tonnes grading 5.1 grams gold per tonne.
The IP anomalies lie along a 1,600-metre strike length that encloses the known mineralization. Holmer had previously dealt an option on the property to Band-Ore, but the agreement was never closed.
In the mean time, NovaWest Resources (NVE-V) (formerly International Homestead Resources) has started drilling at its Jo-Lynn project in Denton Twp., 10 km west of Band-Ore’s discovery. The targets on this property are also IP chargeability anomalies.
In addition, NovaWest has tied up a 6-sq.-km property in Price Twp., east of the Band-Ore discovery.
