Hillsborough sizes up Bingay Creek coal

Hillsborough Resources (HLB-T) has a new resource estimate for its coking coal deposit at Bingay Creek, near Elkford, B.C.

Consulting firm Westwater Mining calculated a measured and indicated resource of 7.6 million tonnes of metallurgical-grade coal. Three main seams contribute to the resource, all of which occupy a tight syncline.

The estimate is based on results from six reverse-circulation drill holes, plus surface mapping. Further drilling is planned, and Hillsborough is working on environmental and engineering studies to develop a plan for test mining.
