Earnings are up for Hillsborough Resources (TSE). In the first six months of 1990, Hillsborough reported a net income of $997,711 (20 cents per share), compared with $581,000 (12 cents per share) for the first half of 1989. Considering revenues dropped to $13 million from $13.9 million last year, the healthy earnings indicate that Hillsborough has been successful in its attempt to reduce operating costs.
Hillsborough has a 20% interest in the Mt. Hundere lead-zinc project in the Yukon, and also provides contracting and engineering services to the mining industry. Hillsborough Resources (TSE) $000s except per-share items 6 months ended June 30 1990 1989 Revenue $12,983 $13,858 Net earnings 1998 581
