Hillsborough defines coal resource at Bingay Creek

Coal miner Hillsborough Resources (HLB-T) has calculated a resource estimate on its coking coal deposit at Bingay Creek, near Elkford, B.C.

Consulting firm Westwater Mining has estimated the measured and indicated resource at 7.6 million tonnes of metallurgical-grade coal. There are three main seams contributing to the resource, all occupying a tight syncline.

The resource is based on the results of a six-hole program of reverse circulation drilling, plus surface mapping. Further drilling is planned and Hillsborough is working on environmental and engineering studies to develop a plan for test mining this year.
