Highland Valley wins safety award

The Highland Valley Copper mine, southwest of Kamloops, B.C., has been recognized for maintaining the highest standard of job safety in a British Columbia mine during 1990. The award was presented by Mines Minister Jack Davis at the annual safety awards banquet held during the province’s Mining Week.

Safety trophies were also presented to Westmin’s Premier gold mine, northwest of Smithers and Minnova’s Samotosum mine, near Kamloops.
