The drilling was designed to bring the project’s reported reserves in line with standards established by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum. Roscoe Postle Associates (RPA) is preparing a block-model estimate of the reserves in anticipation of a feasibility study.
The drilling tested the North, Central and South zones, and returned between 2 and 5 grams gold and 10-20 grams silver per tonne over widths of 10-100 metres.
Highlights from the North zone include:
— hole 401, which cut 30 metres (from 104 metres below surface) running 1.9 grams gold and 17.5 grams silver per tonne;
— hole 406, which cut 15 metres (from 99 metres) grading 5 grams gold and 10.5 grams silver; and
— hole 407, which cut 22 metres (from 36.9 metres) of 3.8 grams gold and 16 grams silver.
In the Central zone, hole 412 returned the longest interval: 113.8 metres (from 43.2 metres) grading 4 grams gold and 18.5 grams silver. Also encouraging were holes 413, which cut 31.4 metres (from 166 metres) grading 6.27 grams gold and 17 grams silver, and 418, which cut 127.9 metres (from 6.7 metres) grading 3.5 grams gold and 15.9 grams silver.
The South zone returned up to 110 metres running 4.4 grams gold and 15.2 grams silver.
As part of their reserve audit, RPA ran check calculations on the Russian reserve estimate using historical data. The results will be incorporated in an updated estimate at the end of July.
Berezitovoye is home to a near-surface resource of 14.1 million tonnes grading 3.05 grams gold and 14.3 grams silver per tonne, plus 0.93% zinc and 0.57% lead, based on a cutoff grade of 1 gram gold per tonne.
Drilling has begun on several previously untested geochemical and electromagnetic targets elsewhere on the property.
