High grade zone encountered by Pacific Trans-Ocean

Drilling has intersected high grade gold mineralization at Pacific Trans-Ocean’s (TSE) Gordon Lake property northeast of Yellowknife, N.W.T. During September 6,692 ft of drilling or 20 holes were completed on the Union and #9 vein on the South zone.

The #9 vein was found to have a high grade core of gold-bearing mineralization occurring over a strike length of 80 ft, to a depth of 400 ft, and across an average true width of 19.5 ft, the company notes. It’s still open to depth and could be open along strike to the north, the company adds.

Results from a May drill program included 14.8 ft of 0.93 oz gold and 10.4 ft averaging 0.39 oz. Follow-up drilling this September returned 28.8 ft of 0.48 oz gold, 21.8 ft of 0.23 oz, and 21 ft grading 0.69 oz. Drilling on the periphery of the high grade core yielded values ranging from 0.06 oz over 6.3 ft to 0.12 oz across 23.2 ft.

The recently discovered Union zone is located 900 ft south and along strike of the #9 vein. It consists of a quartz vein and stockwork that averages 15 ft true width and is exposed over a strike length of 280 ft on surface. Channel samples taken over a strike length of 140 ft on the west limb of the vein returned 0.14 to 0.38 oz gold over true widths of 5.9 to 20 ft. Individual grab samples from within the vein assayed up to 0.63 oz gold.

Drill intersections on the west limb were carried out over a strike length 140 ft and to a depth of 180 ft. Visible gold was intersected in two of the six holes completed and the zone is still open at depth and along strike to the west. Among the values returned from the Union zone were: 21.1 ft of 0.11 oz gold, 20.7 ft grading 0.11 oz, 9.8 ft averaging 0.14 oz, 2.5 ft grading 0.14 oz, 1.1 ft of 0.17 oz, and 2.1 ft grading 0.03 oz.
