More high grading silver assays have been received by Lacana Mining Corp. from the company’s joint ventured California Lakes property, 25 miles southwest of Bathurst, N.B. Partners in the project include American Ore, Sparton Resources and Lynx-Canada Explorations. Acadia Mineral Ventures holds a net profits royalty.
The latest discoveries come from an area north of discovery trench No 1 where 13 oz of silver was assayed across 25 ft.
In two sub parallel zones located 1,000 ft northwest of trench No 1, values of 5.7 oz silver per ton and 3.2 oz silver were assayed across trenched widths of 24.8 ft and 23 ft, Lacana reports.
Another trench, 600 ft to the north of the main discovery trench, yielded a 31-ft-wide zone grading 22 oz silver per ton. A 9.8-ft section averaged 46 oz.
The silver mineralization is associated with subparallel quartz breccia bodies. Based on the encouraging trench values, the partners plan to begin drilling the property shortly.
