High grade gold cut at Noront’s Windfall

Noront Resources (NOT-V) has cut near-surface high-grade gold at its Windfall property, 100 km east of Quevillon, in the Abitibi region of Quebec.

Drilling of eleven holes was highlighted by hole 62, which cut 3.4 metres grading 48.5 grams gold per tonne at a depth of 30 metres down hole.

This interval began with a 1-metre intercept, which graded 163 grams gold per tonne.

Hole 59, drilled 25 metres east and 44 metres north of this, cut up to 93.4 grams gold over 0.4 metre at 9.3 metres depth. Above this the hole cut 4.3 metres grading 12 grams gold per tonne. Both intersections are included in a 7.7-metre intercept grading 12.4 grams gold beginning at three metres depth.

These holes and two others were drilled vertically to intersect a flat-lying mineralized horizon. Gold mineralization is hosted by stacked, flat-lying veins.

One hole drilled with a 60 dip, cut 1.25 metres grading 39.3 grams gold at seven metres down hole. This interval included a 0.95-metre intercept grading 46 grams gold per tonne.

Other holes cut high grades including: 77 grams gold over 0.7 metre, included in a 3.9-metre interval which graded 14.7 grams gold per tonne and 4.9 metres grading 18.6 grams gold (including a 2.9-metre intercept grading 30.9 grams gold).

Four of the holes, which cut high grades, also cut lower-grade intercepts grading from 1.1-7.8 grams gold over 2-13 metres.

Five holes intersected 2.2-8.3 grams gold over 0.3-0.95-metre.

One hole failed to hit significant gold.

Follow up drilling of hole 59 is on going, in order to test the structure to the east and to the north.

The 14.4-sq.-km Windfall Lake property consists of 90 contiguous mining claims. Some of the claims are subject to a net smelter return royalty.

Windfall Lake is one of several projects owned by Noront.
