Hall of Fame seeks nominations

The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame has issued its yearly call for nominations.

The next group of inductees will be formally honored at a dinner on Jan. 8, 1996. The Hall, established in 1989, has 62 members.

Nominations of persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the Canadian mining industry can be made by individuals, firms and organizations. Nominations must be made through sponsors and/or associates.

The Hall’s four sponsors are the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada; the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum; the Mining Association of Canada; and The Northern Miner. Associates include provincial and territorial mining associations.

The suggested deadline for submitting nominations is July 15. (Sponsors and associates must submit their nominations by July 31.) “Guidelines for nominations” and “criteria for selection” are available from sponsors and associates.
