CDN-listed H-L Corp. has acquired a 20% interest in a group of claim blocks near Voisey’s Bay, Nfld.
The claim blocks, which are 95 km northeast of the Voisey’s Bay nickel-copper-cobalt discovery, combine for a total area of 19,200 hectares and cover two favorable magnetic areas.
The company has also acquired a half interest in a 2,475-hectare claim block 80 km northwest of Voisey’s Bay. Noront Resources (VSE) holds the other 50%. Kennecott Canada can back-in for a half interest by refunding all costs (plus administrative overhead) and taking on the costs of a feasibility study.
Large-scale government mapping shows the property’s geology consists mostly of anorthositic rocks of the Nain plutonic suite, with various mixtures of norite, leuconorite and anorthosite. Some gabbroic and troctolitic varieties are also found, and a tongue of Tasiuyak gneiss lies in the southwestern corner of the claim block.
Pulse electromagnetic surveys are scheduled.
