Vancouver Microdiamond analysis on drill core collected from the newly discovered H-1 anomaly on the Tichegami River property in the Otish Mountains region of Quebec has failed to turn up any diamonds.
Pure Gold Minerals (PUG-T) took the core from discovery hole 125-02-2 to the Saskatchewan Research Council for analysis using caustic fusion. Four small samples, with a combined weight of less than 100 kg, showed significant diamond indicator minerals but no diamonds were found.
Based on the indicator minerals, the junior believes that the H-1 intrusive breccia discovery is a kimberlitic intrusive pipe. The indicator minerals are now being analyzed by microprobe and the results of this analysis will allow Pure Gold to confirm the phase and nature of this kimberlitic intrusive.
The H-1 discovery lies 20-km north and east of the Beaver Lake kimberlite. Pure Gold plans to launch a filed program in June and intends to drill at least three additional targets in the immediate vicinity of the H-1 discovery.
Pure Gold is earning a 60% interest in the Tichegami River property and a 50% stake in the Beaver Lake property from Ditem Explorations (DIT-V).
