Drilling of four targets on the St. Elie and Dieu Merci gold properties in French Guiana has resulted in varying degrees of success for Guyanor Ressources (GLR.B-T).
The junior, which is exploring the properties under a joint venture with Asarco (AR-N), failed to encounter consistent gold values at the Chimin de Fer target, and drilling of the Kerouani and Virgile targets proved only moderately successful.
* Overall, the best results were encountered at the Michel target, where the company drilled 16 infill core holes totalling 2,124 metres.
Significant mineralization was encountered in 11 of the first 12 holes, confirming the existence of a corridor of pervasive hydrothermal alteration stretching over 1 km and measuring 150 metres wide. Subvertical and subparallel structures within this corridor exhibited fracturing, quartz veining and associated gold mineralization. The zone remains open at depth and along strike.
Highlights included: a 46.7-Metre interval from hole 58 grading 5.4 grams gold per tonne; 10 metres from hole 54 grading 7.8 grams gold; 8.8 metres from hole 53 grading 4 grams; and 24.4 metres from hole 55 grading 2.1 grams.
Assays from the remaining four holes drilled at Michel are pending.
* At the Kerouani target, where 10 holes were drilled, the average mineralized interval measured 6 metres long with a weighted average of 2 grams gold.
* Ten holes were also drilled at the Virgile target, where the average mineralized interval was 5 metres grading 2.2 grams.
The joint venture will attempt to establish a resource for Kerouani and Virgile within the top 30 metres of saprolite.
* At Chemin de Fer, drilling confirmed the extension of the north-Trending zone of silicification and quartz veining at depth. However, only localized gold values indicated any potential for mineralization at depth.
