Toronto-listed partners Guyanor Ressources and Cambior have started drilling the Dorlin gold property in French Guiana.
The companies are carrying out a 1,600-metre, small-diameter program to test the 141-sq.-km property, where previous work identified discontinuous zones of hydrothermal breccia over a strike length of 9 km. About 840 soil samples and 240 deep-auger samples indicate large areas of gold mineralization grading up to 17 grams per tonne.
The program will examine the best 700 to 1,000 metres along the zone to a depth of 100 metres. Outcrop samples in the area have returned values up to 4 grams.
Cambior, which is funding the exploration, has the right to earn a 50% interest in Dorlin.
