Gunnar/Mill City busy at Winter Lake claims

Shortly after acquiring the Winter Lake claim group 150 miles north of Yellowknife in the North West Territories, partners Gunnar Gold and Mill City Gold are conducting an airborne geophysical survey of the property.

Gunnar says the 22-claim property is in a geological environment similar to the Courageous Lake area where a number of important gold discoveries are being made.

While limited exploration for massive sulphides was conducted at Winter Lake during the 1970s, no significant precious metal exploration has been reported. Since the area is underlain by Yellowknife group metavolcanics and metasediments which have yielded major gold deposits in other regions of the Canadian Shield, Gunnar and Mill City are hoping for a similar discovery.

After the geophysical survey is complete, plans for the Winter Lake property include a diamond drill program, Gunnar says.
