The 1999 campaign will include 60 infill and reconnaissance holes totalling 20,000 metres. The infill holes will target the southeastern portion of the Alta zone, one of three structures that constitute the deposit.
According to an ongoing prefeasibility study by KD Engineering of Tuscon, Ariz., Angostura contains a resource of about 53.5 million tonnes averaging 2.37 grams gold and 7.96 grams silver per tonne. The estimate is based on results from 137 drill holes and a cutoff grade of 0.7 gram gold, though KD has yet to confirm these data by visiting the site.
