Great Lakes works Lluvia de Oro

A drilling and trenching program has ended at the Lluvia de Oro project in northwestern Mexico.

As part of an option agreement, Great Lakes Minerals (TSE) drilled 14 holes totaling more than 4,700 ft. and completed about 3,500 ft. of trenching. The junior encountered several broad intersections of oxidized gold mineralization hosted in a 450-ft.-wide shear zone with a strike length of 2,200 ft.

Eight intersections were over lengths greater than 120 ft. and ranged between 0.02 and 0.06 oz. gold per ton. The remainder were between 30 and 85 ft. and ran 0.02-0.07 oz. All mineralization was found between surface and a depth of 360 ft.

Great Lakes is acquiring the property outright and has begun a second-phase, US$500,000 drill program of 15,000 ft. It will also do additional trenching, metallurgical testing and reserve estimation. Initial results are expected in April.
