Four drill rigs are delineating three known vein systems: Clementine, Gwenivere and South Gwenivere.
The Clementine and Gwenivere systems have been confirmed over strike lengths of 1,500 ft. and 1,100 ft., respectively. Gold and silver mineralization along these trends extends to a vertical depth of 1,000 ft. Both systems remain open at depth and along strike. Three additional parallel vein structures exist to the north and south.
The company is targeting a large, high-grade plumbing system beneath the previously discovered Hollister resource.
The most recent drilling tested the Clementine vein system, to the east and west. Drill holes 123, 124, 145 and 146 tested the western extension, but returned only anomalous gold values. Stepping out 1,000-2,000 ft. to the east of this system, drill crews encountered additional veining, which is said to be typical of the upper portion of known high-grade veins.
Results are as follows:
Hole 117 — 2.9 ft. grading 0.21 oz. gold per ton, with no silver;
Hole 159 — 5.3 ft. grading 0.29 oz. gold, with no silver;
Hole 161 — two zones grading 0.32 oz. gold and 0.3 oz. silver over 1.8 ft., plus 0.29 oz. gold, with no silver, over 3.7 ft.
Drill highlights from the Clementine system include the following:
Hole 136 — three zones graded 0.42 oz. and 1.1 oz. silver over 1.3 ft., 6.76 oz. gold and 21.4 oz. silver over 2 ft., and 0.39 oz. gold and 3.4 oz. silver over 1.5 ft.;
Hole 137 — six mineralized zones grading up to 1.94 oz. gold and 8.8 oz. silver over 2.4 ft.;
Hole 157 — two zones grading 2.23 oz. gold and 5.6 oz. silver, plus 1.07 oz. gold and 15.1 oz. silver, over 2 ft.
The Ivanhole project comprises 14.7 sq. miles and is situated midway between
The junior reports that the veins it has intersected exhibit gold grades, widths, mineralogy and an age similar to those of the Ken Snyder mine, which hosts 2.7 million tons grading 1.12 oz. gold and 12.82 oz. silver per ton.
Core drilling continues to outline and extend the multiple vein systems. These are defined by numerous parallel veins and splays that generally trend in an east-west direction and dip toward the south.
Drilling is also testing for feeder veins beneath the southern portion of the Hollister deposit, where open-pit mining was conducted in the past.
Kappes Cassiday Associates of Reno, Nev., has completed a preliminary metallurgical study of material from the Hollister feeder veins. A series of 96-hour, direct-cyanidation, bottle-roll tests were performed on material that was ground to various sizes.
The tests returned the following recovery rates:
95% gold and 90% silver in 48 hours for quartzite-hosted veins;
96% gold and 94% silver in 24 hours for argillite-hosted veins;
97% gold and 92% silver in 48 hours for the clay-dominant mineralization.
Four rigs are expected to continue drilling throughout the remainder of the year.
