A former minister of revenue for the Liberal government in Quebec, Michel Gratton, has been appointed president of The Asbestos Institute, which has its headquarters in Montreal. Gratton, who served as the institute’s director general since late 1989, was first elected to the province’s National Assembly in 1972. He served until 1989 when he chose not to run again for public office. Gratton is a civil engineer and a member of l’Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec.
The Asbestos Institute is a research and information organization dedicated to promoting the safe use of asbestos.
