Grassroots grants allocated in B.C.

Grants have been allocated to 68 prospectors under the British Columbia government’s Prospectors’ Assistance program.

The grants are part of the Explore B.C. program, announced in this year’s provincial budget. This program will provide $3 million for British Columbia’s mining industry in the 1995-96 fiscal year.

The 68 grants cover 132 prospecting areas throughout the province. The program provides 75% of eligible costs up to a maximum of $10,000 per applicant per year. The program is aimed at stimulating grassroots exploration.
