In-fill and zone extension drilling continue to encounter mining- width, ore grade mineralization at the Granges Exploration-MacMillan Energy Mishibishu Lake gold project in northwestern Ontario, the companies report.
Assay results indicate extension of mineralization to the northeast and directly to the west of the main deposit, the companies report.
The following are some of the better drilling results to the end of November:
Width Assay Hole
(ft) (oz/t) M-171 6.5 0.14 M-172 6 0.17 M-173 1 0.29
” 1 0.78 M-175 2 0.23 M-175 W-1 3 0.19
” 6 0.35 M-175 W-2 5 0.24 M-177 1 0.81 M-177 W-1 6 0.43
177 W-2 4 0.34
Ore reserves currently stand at about 554,300 tons averaging 0.18 oz gold per ton. The zone is open in several directions. The companies expect a 30% increase in grade following completion of a $2.5-million underground program scheduled to start early in 1988.
A further 50,000 ft of drilling on the main zone and on two new zones located 2,500 ft and 5,500 ft away, and testing of additional anomalies on the 24,000-acre property, at a budgeted cost of $4.5 million and under way last month, will be completed by June, 1988.
Granges and MacMillan are equal partners in the project, located about 45 miles southeast of Hemlo, Ont.
