Dr. Peter Annan of Ottawa-based Geoterrex was guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Canadian Exploration Geophysicists Society (KEGS) held recently at the National Club in Toronto.
A record crowd of about 60 KEGS members listened to Annan’s talk, which was accompanied by a series of slides and overhead projections. Geoterrex’s GEOTEM II airborne electromagnetic system was briefly described and a number of case histories were reviewed. Surveys conducted over the Lentswe nickel-copper deposit in Botswana, a copper-nickel deposit in the Beardmore-Geraldton area and the Timmins area of Ontario, and the Cigar Lake deposit in northern Saskatchewan were reviewed. A lively series of questions followed. Next month, KEGS President Allan Spector says, a panel of geophysic ists will discuss professional ethics in light of the new competitive environment in which exploration geophysicists find themselves today.
