Goldstack zone is shaping up

A new zone is shaping up in the central part of the Goldstack Resources’ Dubuisson Twp. property, reports President Herve Drolet.

Located about seven miles west of Val d’Or Que., the property contains part of the old Malartic Goldfields’ property which has indicated reserves of 869,193 tons grading 0.179 oz gold per ton.

Sullivan Mines under an agreement dated Oct. 5, 1984, is funding the exploration work. Sullivan has an option to acquire a 50% interest by spending $600,000 before Dec. 31.

Last month, Hole P-86-18 returned a 41-ft intersection grading 0.24 oz gold per ton.

Since then, Hole 86-20 drilled below the zone in 86-18 cut 29.5 ft from 992.0 ft to 1021.5 ft and averaged 0.13 oz gold per ton. Hole 86-21 drilled 100 ft west of 86-18 and has cut 113.2 ft grading 0.193 oz from 793 to 906.2 ft in the hole. The 69.9-ft section from 836.3 to 906.2 assayed 0.261 oz.

Hole P-86-22, drilled to intersect the zone 125 ft above the section in 86-21, has just cut a 65-70-ft section of the same diorite encountered in the previous hole and assays are being awaited. Hole 86-23 is now drilling to intersect the zone 100 ft below the section in P-86-21.

Mr Drolet says the new zone is a large diorite dike which has intruded the peridotite which surrounds the diorite on both sides and was previously thought to be non-gold-bearing peridotite.
