The second stage of underground development is well under way at the Hislop West gold project in the Larder Lake area of northern Ontario, Goldpost Resources reports.
The company is hoping to extend the decline to 400 ft vertically below surface and test 500 ft of strike length on two levels on the Gibson West zone. Development muck from the 200-ft and 400-ft drifts is being crushed, sampled and assayed as drifting progresses. The company says the work should be completed by mid-February.
Two new zones, Goldpost reports, were recently intersected by underground drilling. The first zone assayed 1.7 oz gold per ton across 5 ft, while the second zone averaged 0.44 oz across 21 ft.
