Golden Regent explores Slovak bet

Exploration is scheduled to begin shortly on Golden Regent Resources’ (ASE) holdings in central Slovakia. The junior controls about 48 sq. miles in the West Carpathian epithermal zone.

The company plans initially to drive a 1,300-ft. adit on the Cinobana permit. Gold mineralization here is known to be hosted in shear zones, some of which were tested by means of a 45-ft. shaft and drifting. Underground sampling by the Slovak government has returned values of up to 5 oz. gold per ton. Golden Regent plans to tunnel across the strike of the structure and evaluate further the areas of known mineralization.

Work is also planned on a second permit in the Cinobana area, where the government discovered four gold-bearing veins. One zone, which has been traced to a depth of 300 ft., returned values of up to 0.2 oz. gold and 6% antimony over 13 ft. Golden Regent plans to drill-test this zone at the 900-ft. horizon, in addition to drilling a second surface showing nearby. Sampling, mapping and trenching will also be carried out on other permits.
