A winter exploration program on the Hope group of claims near Yellowknife, N.W.T., will allow Golden Marlin Resources (VSE) to earn a 50% interest in the property from Rayrock Yellowknife Resources (TSE). Golden Marlin is planning to complete detailed geophysical (IP) surveys, followed by diamond drilling, on anomalous parts of the Campbell shear. The Campbell shear hosts the orebodies of the nearby Con gold mine.
Previous drilling revealed that geophysical anomalies along the shear were caused by concentrations of sulphides. The best hole yielded a 1-metre section grading close to one gram gold per tonne (0.03 oz. per ton) and a 25-metre length grading 0.63 grams.
Also near Yellowknife, Golden Marlin will complete 900 metres of drilling and 10 km of geophysical work within the company’s North West gold property. Developed under a joint venture agreement with Cameco, the drilling program will test an ore-grade intersection encountered during last season’s program as well as nearby geophysical anomalies.
