Golden Knight expands its property holdings in Ghana

Vancouver-based Golden Knight Resources (GKR-T) has extended by 300 metres the strike length at the Abore North gold zone on the Oda River concession in Ghana.

Infill and extension drilling has lengthened the strike to 1.7 km, and the zone remains open along strike and at depth.

In addition, assay results from 37 holes in the southern half of the zone continue to corroborate the continuity of mineralization up to a depth of 100 metres. That zone lies in a sub-vertical zone of variable thickness.

The drilling was part of a US$1.7-million, second-phase program that included 17,000 metres of reverse-circulation drilling, trenching and detailed sampling of numerous geochemical and stream sediment anomalies.

Drill results include: 22 metres grading 2.53 grams gold per tonne in hole 161; 30 metres of 0.36 gram in hole 163; 60 metres (from surface) of 1.76 grams in hole 181; and 41 metres of 1.54 grams in hole 182.

The grades of three holes were revised: hole 88 was revised to 6 metres of 2.34 grams and 52 metres of 0.63 gram; hole 110 was revised to 10 metres of 1.12 grams and 50 metres of 1.08 grams; and hole 101, a cross-hole that bottomed in mineralization, was revised to 100 metres (from surface) of 1.42 grams.

Golden Knight and Australian partner Leo Shield Exploration Ghana can earn up to 85% in the 73-sq.-km concession, which is in the Manso Nkwanta region of the West African nation.

Since drilling began early last year, 205 reverse-circulation holes have been drilled over 16,756 metres.

The companies are currently compiling drill results from the northern half of Abore North. The joint venture has also completed 37 reverse-circulation holes, totalling 3,708 metres, on the Mpesetia concession, 30 km northeast of Oda River. Assays are pending.

Golden Knight holds a 17.5% interest in the Tarkwa concession, as well as interests in 12 other concessions in Ghana, and one in Burkina Faso.
