Goldcorp ups Wharf ownership

Goldcorp Investments (TSE) recently made a private purchase of 250,000 shares of Wharf Resources (TSE) at $6.03 per share. Goldcorp now owns 2,813,700 shares and its 69% owned subsidiary Dickenson Mines (TSE) owns 6,856,411 shares, for a combined total of 9,670,111 or 51.1% of Wharf’s outstanding capital. The purchase was Goldcorp’s second in recent weeks; it previously announced the purchase of 648,000 shares of Wharf at $6.25 per share. Goldcorp said it may increase or decrease its investment in Wharf from time to time, but does not intend to make a takeover bid at this time.
