Goldbrook Explorations has acquired an option to earn a 50% interest in a 65-claim property 50 miles north of Beardmore, Ont. Located near the Onaman River, the property covers several polymetallic deposits which were outlined in the early 1950s.
On the Headway main zone, drilling outlined reserves ranging from 250,000 tons to 739,000 tons grading from 3%-4.4% zinc and 1-1.3 oz silver per ton. On the Coulee No 5 zone, drilling defined a small reserve of 42,000 tons to a depth of 200 ft. The deposit grades 5.83 oz silver, 0.76% lead, 1.16% zinc and 0.066 oz gold.
Two other small copper-gold- silver deposits of less than 125,000 tons each, were discovered on another part of the property in 1975. Both remain open at depth, Goldbrook says.
The company plans to complete a program of geophysical surveys, surface stripping and mapping during its evaluation of the property. Goldbrook has the right to earn a 50% interest in the claims by spending $750,000 on exploration over a 3-year period and making cash payments totalling $40,000.
On the Wood Mountain project in Colorado, Gold Brook has rehabilitated the main adits and installed a ventilation system. Mapping and sampling of the old mine workings has been completed.
