Gold Reserve works Km 88 play

With three rigs operating and 40 more holes planned for the current phase of drilling, Gold Reserve (TSE) continues to receive encouraging results from its Las Brisas property.

Situated within the Kilometre 88 region of Venezuela, the 2-by-2.5-km project is on strike with the Las Cristinas property of Placer Dome (TSE). And Gold Reserve hopes to find a quantity of mineralization comparable with that 9-million-oz. resource.

Drilling points to the existence of two main areas of mineralization: the Pozo Azul, and the Laguna Donna on strike to the south.

The former has been subjected to more than 50 drill holes, which have outlined a strike length of 750 metres, with mineralization open to the north and south.

Drilling on the Laguna Donna is reported to be more intense, and limited work has indicated mineralization with a strike length of 350 metres.

The 20 holes drilled at Laguna Donna have encountered primarily gold mineralization, whereas the Pozo Azul is characterized by both copper and gold.

A second phase of more closely spaced, diamond drilling should allow for the calculation of an initial resource estimate later this year.
