Gold panning to benefit hospital

A gold panning charity event will be held from Jan. 28-30, at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

All funds raised by the event will be donated to British Columbia’s Hospital Foundation. Participants in the event, which is hosted by the British Columbia Chamber of Mines and the Yukon Chamber of Mines, will have the opportunity to pan for a share of $5,000 worth of placer gold, as well as win a 3-to-5- oz. gold nugget.
