Surface sampling on the Eastmain Ouest property near Matagami, Que., has resulted in a significant gold showing.
Montreal-listed partners Diabior Explorations and Virginia Gold Mines report that the K showing, as it is known, returned values of 52.4 grams gold per tonne.
The discovery occurred fewer than 2 km from the P-41 showing, which returned values of 20.98 and 80.71 grams gold per tonne. Stripping and geophysical working will be carried out shortly.
Diabior has also discovered gold on its nearby Grande Sud property. Prospecting this past summer led to the discovery of five new showings within a 1.6-km radius of the existing As showing (36.3 grams per tonne), with gold grades ranging from 2.1 to 13.6 grams.
Meanwhile, Diabior has acquired the adjacent La Grande Ouest property and renegotiated its option agreement with Garde, Societe d’Exploration Miniere (ME) on the nearby Sipanika and Aeroport properties, such that it can now earn a 100% interest.
In return, Diabior has granted Garde options to acquire the Grande Nord and Grande Est properties.
