It looks like a go for the Dona Lake gold project of Dome Mines and Campbell Red Lake Mines in the Pickle Lake area of northwestern Ontario.
Dome President Henry Brehaut tells The Northern Miner he is confident the joint venture partners will go ahead with production at Dona Lake, subject to confirmation of “certain estimates.” There will be no actual decision for a month or two, while the companies review a feasibility study.
Mr Brehaut says a base case for underground indicates a mineral inventory at Dona Lake of 946,000 tonnes at a grade of 0.22 oz gold per tonne.
He said operating costs at the project would be around $200(US) per oz.
The Dome president added that two other properties in the Pickle Lake area have shown promise, with significant gold mineralization found in a recent hole on one of them.
