The latest phase of a diamond drill program consisting of seven holes (5,216 ft.) has been completed on the Joburke Mine project, west of Timmins, Ont. Glen Auden Resources (TSE) says targets previously located by trenching and geophysics both east and west of the mine were tested. One hole, 90-45, intersected 130 ft. of core grading 0.19 oz. per ton gold at a depth of 650 ft.
This new zone is about 500 ft. south of the north zone, which has been the main target of exploration over the past year.
A follow-up program, consisting of drilling new surface holes and deepening up to six existing holes south of the north zone, is being planned.
Glen Auden can earn 50% of the interest owned by Noranda Exploration (TSE), the projects operator, by spending $2 million over a 3-year period. About $1.26 million has been spent on the property already.
Glen Auden has also been active on a 142-claim property in Casa Berardi Twp., Que., optioned from Noranda.
The company has completed 1,796 ft. of diamond drilling to test IP anomalies covering the extension of a pyrite-ankerite horizon. This horizon is interpreted to be the equivalent to a similar, high-grade intersection encountered at the Agnico-Eagle mine.
The 26.5-ft.-wide horizon was intersected in the first hole at the contact between felsic tuff and mafic volcanics. Assays from all the holes are pending.
Glen Auden can earn a 50% interest in the property by spending $500,000 over a 4-year period.
