Encouraging diamond drill results are reported by Gerle Gold at its McConnell Creek gold prospect 150 miles north of Smithers, B.C.
All of the 16 holes drilled intersected the main shear zone over widths ranging from 7.5 to 46 ft. A second parallel zone was also intersected by some drill holes. Best intersections were 7.8 ft grading 0.115 oz gold; 3.3 ft of 0.446 oz and 2.6 ft of 0.4 oz.
The company is planning a $1.2-million program consisting of additional drilling, trenching and underground exploration. Financing will come from either flow- through shares or a joint venture arrangement, President Raymond Hrkac says.
Drill-indicated reserves are 50,000 tons of 0.22 oz. The main zone has been traced over three miles and is open along strike and to depth.
