Montreal-listed junior GeoNova Explorations is exploring properties in the Lebel-sur-Quevillon and Eastmain areas of Quebec.
In the Quevillon area, three properties, known as the Gander, Baptiste River and Diomines Extension, are being explored.
At the Gander, mineralized samples assaying as high as 27 grams gold per tonne were taken from a pyrite-bearing gabbro, about 30 metres north of the Chieftain shear zone. The gabbro was carbonatized, with fractures containing up to 20% pyrite.
Additional prospecting, stripping and sampling will be carried out on all three concessions.
In the Eastmain area mapping, prospecting and geophysical surveys have been completed on the Colline Noire, Main and Dejour properties. Several shear zones with locally brecciated, sulphide-bearing quartz veins have been identified and sampled. Results, although incomplete, have been as high as 3.84 grams gold per tonne.
