A third phase of drilling totaling 7,000 ft. in 14 holes is under way on the Rainbow property near Kamloops, B.C.
Teck (TSE) recently completed a 70% earn-in on the property and Getchell Resources (VSE) is now funding a 30% working interest.
The third phase of work is designed to delineate the updip extent of a zone of copper mineralization. Intersections in holes 94-14 (61.5 metres grading 0.7% copper), 94-17 (166 metres grading 0.61% copper), 94-21 (123.5 metres grading 0.5% copper) and 94-22 (160 metres grading 0.29% copper) outlined the zone. It constitutes an area measuring 150 metres northeast-southwest and 250 metres northwest-southeast, with a vertical extent of about 250 metres. James Gillis, president, said the key to this drilling program will be to see if the mineralization continues to surface and is potentially minable by open-pit methods.
