A pair of companies will receive financing from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. to conduct feasibility studies on granite deposits, the Ontario government agency announced.
Mantiou Stone (Canada) Inc. of Etobicoke will receive $75,000 for its deposits near Webbwood, and Northern Industrial Quarries Ltd. of Toronto will receive $55,000 for a deposit north of River Valley.
Meanwhile, Jarvis Resources (VSE) reports that gross proceeds from its recent rights offering totalled $1 million. The company is developing a marble quarry near Sudbury, Ont.
