Freewest Resources and Noranda Exploration have entered into a joint-venture agreement whereby Freewest has the right to earn a 30% interest in the Cline Lake property at Wawa, Ont., by providing $777,000 to be spent on exploration. Freewest has spent $150,000 to date.
The remaining interests are as follows: Noranda 30%, Cline Development 30% and Prophet Resources 10%.
During 1986 a total of 4,700 ft of drilling was completed in 11 holes; all holes intersected anomalous gold values. The most spectacular assays were found in hole CL-86-22, which had intercepts of 17.9 oz per ton across 0.8 ft, 6.6 oz across 2.5 ft and 0.91 oz across 3.4 ft.
A new 37-hole drill program consisting of 16,000 ft to test six target areas on the property is under way.
