Freeport to sell e-concentrates

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX-N), through subsidary P.T. Freeport-Indonesia (PT-FI), has developed an interactive auction format for the sale of concentrates from the Grasberg copper-gold complex in the province of Irian Jaya.

The first auctions are set for October and November, with shipment to follow in 2001. Each auction will consist of 10,000 dry tonnes, representing only a fraction of the company’s yearly production. Bidding will be conducted through www.copperconcentrate.com.
