Free trade for geologists

All necessary operational procedures are in place at U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service offices for Canadian geologists to obtain entry into the U.S. as professionals under the terms of the Free Trade Agreement.

The legislation also provides for American geologists to enter Canada under the same preferential terms.

To qualify, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications to engage in the profession (normally a university degree) and must have a bona fide offer of employment in the U.S.

Application is made to the nearest office of U.S. Immigration to obtain TC status, which is valid for one year.
