Francisco works Mexican ground

Diamond drillers have started work on El Sultan, a gold project in Zacatecas state in central Mexico.

Francisco Gold (VSE) hopes to identify a Carlin-type, limestone-hosted, disseminated, oxide orebody with open-pit potential.

Prior work indicates the mineralization is stratiform with a minimum thickness of 30 ft. and a strike length of 800 ft.

Meanwhile, the company is busy conducting geochemical tests and ground geophysics on La Dura, a gold project in Sonora state.

The structural and geological setting of La Dura is said to resemble Placer Dome and Kennecott’s 1.3-million-oz. Mulatos oxide gold project to the east. Work at La Dura is expected to identify several drill targets and should be completed before the end of May.

Francisco is negotiating to acquire another gold property in the Mulatos area, as well as a gold-silver project in Chihuahua state.
