The Society of Economic Geologists (SEG) will host eight field trips during its Global Exploration conference, slated for April 14-16, 2002, in Littleton, Colo.
The trips will encompass: the copper/platinum-goup-element deposits and lesser-known lead-zinc-copper massive sulphide deposits near Sudbury, Ont.; the Mission-Pima skarn-porphyry system near Tucson, Ariz.; the Cananea district in Mexico; Arizona’s Morenci district; the San Nicolas volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit in Mexico’s Zacatecas state; the Carlin-type gold-silver deposits in northern Nevada; the Cripple Creek district in Colorado; and the Kelsey Lake diamond mine, also in Colorado.
Also planned are 22 talks, featuring representatives of the Noril’sk Kombinat in Russia, Lihir Gold and Ashanti Goldfields, among other companies.
