Fort Knox tests Wings Point

Preliminary drilling at the Wings Point property in north-central Newfoundland has returned heartening results for Fort Knox Gold Resources (FNX-T).

Three of the four shallow holes each returned one intersection: 1.3 metres grading 6.33 grams gold per tonne; 1.2 metres of 5.45 grams; and 1.15 metres of 9.98 grams. The holes were collared on two fences spaced 60 metres apart, drilled no deeper than 30 metres, and sunk in an area from which up to 17.5 grams gold was returned in grab and channel samples.

Gold occurs in quartz veins in multiple shear zones and associated altered wallrock containing cubic pyrite and arsenopyrite. Clastic sedimentary rocks of the Davidsville group are the host.

Follow-up drilling will total 800 metres, with mineralization tested to a vertical depth of 150 metres and along strike to the south.
