Recently completed drilling in the Shining Tree area of northeastern Ontario has re-turned low-grade base metal values for Fort Knox Gold Resources (TSE).
Testing a geophysical target on its 100% owned prospect in Fawcett Twp., Fort Knox intersected a 200-ft. interval of interlayered sediments and pyroclastics containing anomal- ous copper, zinc and lead mineralization. The interval returned assays of up to 619 parts per million (ppm) copper, 13,100 ppm (1.3%) zinc and 3,010 ppm lead.
Fort Knox says the geological sequence containing the min-eralization has been traced for over one kilometre.
A second hole, SG-1, tested a blind electromagnetic con-ductor to a depth of 550 ft. Results include a 4-ft. length grading 0.45% copper and 0.53% nickel within an 18-ft. sulphide-rich diorite. Further up the hole, Fort Knox en-countered anomalous copper values over a 50-ft. interval.
