Flag drilling at Rathbun Lake bet

Calgary based Flag Resources (ASE) is planning to drill a 2,000 ft. deep vertical hole to probe for base metals on its Rathbun Lake property in the Wanipitei Lake area of northern Ontario. The claims host a known copper-nickel occurrence which has been explored by at least 41 shallow holes in the past.

Flag’s proposed program is designed to follow up previous intersections of epidote alteration as well as to probe for deep sulphide mineralization. The claims are about seven miles southwest of Flag’s property boundary with Falconbridge in neighboring Mackelcan Twp.

Meanwhile, Falconbridge is putting the finishing touches on a major airborne geophysical survey covering its claims in the region. That work forms part of a larger program which is exploring the regional Wanipitei Anomaly. Falconbridge plans to conduct seismic work and deep drilling on its claims later this year.
