Farallon hits pay dirt at Campo Morado

At its Campo Morado property in Mexico, Farallon Resources (FAR-V) has uncovered a new, metals-rich massive sulphide deposit.

Dubbed South Naranjo, the deposit was discovered during a drill campaign one mile south of the Reforma deposit and 166 km south of Mexico City.

The deposit is open to the south, east and west. Drilling indicates a length of at least 800 metres and a true thickness ranging from 7 to 77 metres.

Farallon pulled the following promising values:

q Hole 137 returned 9 metres grading 8.35 grams gold and 336.6 grams silver per tonne, 0.62% copper, 3.33% lead and 6.37% zinc, as well as 2.3 metres of 3.12 grams gold, 200.7 grams silver, 0.57% copper, 1.23% lead and 0.06% zinc.

q Hole 133 returned 6.7 metres grading 1.09 grams gold, 89.9 grams silver, 0.97% copper, 0.75% lead and 1.02% zinc.

q Hole 145 intersected 17.8 metres grading 2 grams gold, 124.2 grams silver, 1.32% copper, 0.79% lead and 2.92% zinc, plus 12.65 metres of 0.31 gram gold, 79.1 grams silver, 2.08% copper, 0.08% lead and 1.27% zinc.

q Hole 149 intersected 5.45 metres grading 5.88 grams gold, 280.5 grams silver, 0.48% copper, 2.31% lead and 6.15% zinc.

q Hole 152 hit 7 metres of 3.3 grams gold, 164.9 grams silver, 0.55% copper, 1.32% lead and 6.43% zinc, and 1.1 metres of 12.26 grams gold, 80.5 grams silver, 0.76% copper, 0.44% lead and 2.01% zinc.

q Hole 155 returned 6.7 metres of 3 grams gold, 165.4 grams silver, 0.52% copper, 1.44% lead and 7.59% zinc, as well as 5.2 metres grading 7.41 grams gold, 54.1 grams silver, 0.41% copper, 0.57% lead and 1.63% zinc.

Along with work at South Naranjo, drilling at the Reforma prospect, to the north, continues to delineate a large deposit of precious metals, which strikes northwest and dips moderately to the southwest.

Reforma has now been drill-tested on a grid pattern over a strike length of 900 metres and a downdip length of up to 400 metres.

Drilling has intersected two distinct metals-rich horizons, one of which was found to contain 4.73 grams gold, 238 grams silver, 0.58% copper, 1.88% lead and 4.53% zinc.

Meanwhile, drilling is set to start at the nearby Suriana deposit, which was mined for nine years in the early 1900s. Historical reports point to a resource of about 5.5 million tonnes grading 3 grams gold, 574 grams silver, 0.4% copper and 7.5% combined lead and zinc.
